How to make Masala Oats

  1. 1.Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let them crackle. Add cashew nuts and almonds and fry until light brown.
  2. 2.Add onions, green chilies, green peas and carrot (in that order), stir and cook for 2-3 minutes. (Carrots and peas must have been cooked by now)
  3. 3.Now add the oats, stir and pan-roast it to a light nutty fragrance (about 1 minute).
  4. 4.Add turmeric powder and mix well. Then add 550 ml of hot water. Now add the four spice seasoning powder, salt and sugar to your taste, and mix well together. Let it cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  5. 5.Now add in the butter, stir and add in half of the chopped coriander. Mix in again. Remove from the heat, serve it hot in a bowl with leftover chopped coriander garnish on top.
